![]() Tim Behrens Biography Tim Behrens comes from an acting family. His dad, Frank Behrens, was a well known radio and TV actor. Frank also wrote material for several comedians, including Tony Randall and Don Knotts. Tim's mom was a working actress for 60 years! Her stage name was Amzie Strickland, and if you've regularly watched TV since 1956, then you've seen Amzie. Originally from Oklahoma, Amzie began acting in radio in New York City, and became sought after for comic roles. As radio waned, she moved to Hollywood. Amzie has guest starred on more than 500 TV series in those years, everything from I Love Lucy to ER. Indeed, her resume reads like a history of television. She has also appeared in 15 feature films including Doc Hollywood and Pretty Woman. Plus, she has had feature roles in more than 35 made-for-TV movies and pilots. Having been raised in a household of two actors, Tim avoided acting like the plague...until some moment of deranged alchemy got him onto the stage for the first time at age 32. Since then, Tim was the managing/artistic director of Centre Theatre Group in Spokane, Wa., for 6 years, and then became marketing manager and reader for the audio book company, Books In Motion. From 1993, Tim devoted full time to the McManus Comedies for 10 years. In 2003 he founded, with his wife, Leslie Ann Grove, CenterStage in Spokane, Washington. As of the summer of 2006, he has performed the four McManus Comedies, and the corporate programs Pat wrote, almost 1,100 times, before audiences totaling well over 400,000 people, in 23 states and 3 provinces of Canada. When not touring, Tim and his wife are avid gardeners, having cultivated several new species of avids.
